Nike’s Dunk silhouette was first introduced in 1985, and has evolved from a basketball shoe into one of the most sought-after casual sneakers on the planet. From Sportswear pairs to the ever-elusive SB releases and collaborative Quick Strikes, the Dunk has seen it all. Most recently, Nike revived the beloved silhouette in 2020, ending a several year drought on Dunk releases, making them widely available for anyone who wanted a pair, or seven. Now, the Swoosh is looping the Dunk into their in-line release collections, like this upcoming “Bright Side” pair we are taking a look at today. While it is largely unclear what the theme behind this release is, the “On the Bright Side” script printed on one of the insoles lends the shoe its name. The new look begins with a soft white ribbed base layer, laden with various embroidered patterns throughout. The overlays come in soft suede, mixing brown and green earth tones for a striking look, while pink canvas Swooshes adorn the lateral sides of the shoe. This pair likely features a high content of recycled materials, evident through the Nike Grind rubber outsole and general patchwork nature of the shoe.
